Production
Amy Peterson Chocolate makes all our products by hand in small batches to give you the freshest, best tasting confections. Please allow 4 days for production and shipment of all standard orders. Please contact us for availability and production times on any custom orders.
Packaging
Our confections are packaged to arrive safely. From May 1st through September 30th we require a warm weather Packaging upgrade and depending on destination, Next Day Air Shipping. We will not ship during these months without the warm weather upgrade due to the fact that we cannot guarantee the confections will arrive in good condition. If Next Day Air Shipping is required, we will contact you via email with the amount of additional charges and request your approval to ship.
Destinations
We ship year-round throughout the United States exclusively with UPS. Unfortunately, we are unable to ship internationally at this time. UPS can not ship to P.O. boxes, APO or FPO locations, so please provide us with a street address for your package destination.
Delivery Options
Amy Peterson Chocolates ships UPS ground to Chicago and its suburbs. Outside of this general area, we can offer the following shipping options through UPS as needed: Ground, 3 Day Select, 2nd day Air, 2nd Day Air AM, Next Day Air Saver, Next Day Air, and Next Day Air Early AM. Our shipping rates are based upon the total package weight and the destination of the package. We will contact you via email with pricing. We ship Monday-Thursday, with the exception of holidays. You can choose your desired arrival date and we will make every attempt to have your package arrive on time. Please see the Packaging and Liability sections for more information.
ALL CHOCOLATE SHIPMENTS REQUIRE A SIGNATURE UPON DELIVERY. WE WILL NOT GUARANTEE OR REFUND ANY DAMAGED PACKAGES THAT DO NOT HAVE A SIGNATURE OR WERE DELAYED IN DELIVERY DUE TO THE RECIPIENT NOT BEING AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST DELIVERY ATTEMPT.
Tracking
Once your package has been shipped, you will receive an e-mail notification including your package Tracking number. You may click on the provided link, or enter your Tracking number at UPS.com to check the delivery status of your package.
Incorrect or Incomplete Addresses
When an incorrect or incomplete address is provided, there will be a $15.00 change of address processing fee, the cost to reship the item, plus any additional UPS charges incurred. Once the package is returned to us, Amy Peterson Chocolates will resend the package to the new address. To resend the package we must have the Recipient’s name, Company name (if applicable), Street #, Street name (please include N, S, E, or W), the Suite/Apt/Floor #, City, State, and Zip Code.
Liability
Once your package has been picked up by UPS, Amy Peterson Chocolates is no longer responsible for any damages caused by UPS delivery or any delays due to weather, or carrier malfunctions.
Amy Peterson Chocolates is not liable for any misdirected and/or delayed packages if an incorrect or incomplete address was provided at the time of the order.
Amy Peterson Chocolates is not liable for any damages or non-delivery of packages if the intended recipient is not available to receive the package on the first delivery attempt.

Amy Peterson Chocolates Guarantees that our chocolates and homemade confections are made with the freshest, high-quality ingredients. We strive to satisfy our customers with the fabulous taste of fresh, homemade confections.
Refunds and Returns
Every item is carefully inspected before leaving Amy Peterson Chocolates. All returns must be in their original package, unused and uneaten and we will gladly refund the cost of the product. This applies to common items available on the website. This does NOT apply to custom orders (Please see Cancellations section). Refunds for damage during shipping must be claimed through UPS. Please retain original carton in order to make your claim with UPS.
Cancellations
All of our products are made to order. Cancellations or decreases in quantities require notification prior to production. We require 3 weeks notification for Cancellations of any custom orders.
Notification of Cancellations or decreases in quantity once the order is in production will be subject to a loss of deposit and a minimum 10% cancellation charge.
Payment Options
Unless otherwise stated, Amy Peterson Chocolates requires payment in full at the time the order is placed. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Please call regarding additional Payment Options. We will not be responsible for a delay in shipment if your credit card is not approved.
Prices and Charges
All Prices and Charges are subject to change without notice. 7% Sales Tax will be added for Illinois residents during checkout.
Allergy Warning
Our confections are processed on equipment that manufacture products that contain tree nuts, milk, peanuts, and soy ingredients.
